Started a copywriting agency to improve client copy on sales pages and emails. Here, I learned how to make messaging stick and built free resources to help others along the way.

Why I Started

After designing websites, I realized that the information clients put on their sites mattered more than the flashy designs they wanted. I discovered that conversion happened in conversations — through copy.


  • My journey began when I recognized that the most basic site with specific copy made a bigger impact than high-end design.


  • A breakthrough came when I adjusted the copy on a property website for a client. Despite the client asking for a new hero image, the increase in booked calls came purely from the revised wording. That was when I knew copy could drive massive results without the need for a full redesign.

Lessons Learned

One of the most significant challenges I faced was communicating the value of copywriting to clients who had already set their minds on flashy web design.


  • Clients didn’t realize that changing the copy could generate faster results. I had to shift their focus and convince them that small copy adjustments could outperform a complete redesign.


  • A huge “a-ha” moment came when I realized that copy isn’t about the writer, but about the reader.
    The most successful copy is actionable and customer-centric, offering clear benefits to the reader. This understanding transformed the results I achieved for clients.


  • Running the agency also taught me that writing isn’t just a skill — it’s everywhere.
    Good copy is the cornerstone of sales funnels, and it’s been a valuable tool that I continue to use to guide people through decision-making processes.

How It Shaped My Work

Optimise Copy Labs heavily influenced my current projects, particularly with VPS.


  • I’ve learned that copy is the lifeblood of funnels.
    While I design logical workflows for the funnel pages, it’s the copy that actually makes people click, engage,and move through the funnel.


Copywriting is all about connecting with the conversation that’s already happening in the customer’s mind.


  • This agency taught me to focus on how to write for different outcomes and guide people to take action.


  • The customer relationships I built and the projects I worked on also taught me how to communicate more effectively, both written and spoken, ensuring I never over-promised or under-delivered.
